About Monumentenbezit
Monumentenbezit is committed to preserving cultural heritage by maintaining, researching, and repurposing a unique collection of monuments, with opening them to the public being an important part of this. The 32 national monuments, spread throughout the Netherlands, consist of churches, towers, memorials, ruins, country estates, and fortifications. No fewer than five of the objects are included in the Top 100 monuments of the Netherlands, and the fortifications of Naarden have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the coming years, in addition to preserving and expanding the collection, we will be working hard to further develop its public function. Monumentenbezit aims to be innovative and groundbreaking in this regard. Our monuments should be places where people not only come to look, but also to participate. We want to reach a broad and diverse audience with our heritage. Our monuments are there for everyone: places where wonder and inspiration come together with experience, entertainment, and imagination. Thanks to public programming, cultural activities, and surprising collaborations with museums, creators, commercial, and innovative partners, more and more people are discovering Monumentenbezit.

To further increase our visibility and impact, we are looking for a Senior Marketing Communications Manager who can effortlessly combine strategy and execution.
Your role
As Senior Marketing Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Monumentenbezit's corporate communications strategy. You will work to strengthen our position in the heritage sector and build Monumentenbezit's reputation as a recognizable player and knowledge institute.
In addition, you will be responsible for the marketing and branding of our public buildings, together with the marketing communications team. With creative campaigns and smart activations, you will attract more visitors, increase brand awareness, and boost revenue.
You are the link between content and experience, between bricks and mortar and visitors. A strategic thinker who gets energy from execution: from concept to campaign, from plan to publication.
What are you going to do?
Corporate communication & positioning
- Developing and implementing Monumentenbezit's corporate communication strategy
- Positioning monument ownership firmly within the heritage world (B2B)
- Building Monumentenbezit as a knowledge institute: highlighting expertise, vision, and impact
- Contributing to the development and strategy of new projects from a marketing communications perspective
Marketing & branding of public buildings
- Strengthening the brand experience and visibility of our locations
- Devising and implementing campaigns with the aim of attracting more visitors, increasing turnover, and raising awareness
- Identify and set up new activities/initiatives that appeal to the public
- Contributing ideas about branding and communication approach per location (tone of voice, proposition, campaigns)
Creation & implementation
- Coming up with creative concepts and angles (campaigns, stories, formats, activations)
- Hands-on implementation: from content and planning to launch and evaluation
- Collaborating with internal colleagues and external partners (e.g., agencies, photographers, designers)
Who are we looking for?
You are a creative, energetic senior marketer who thinks outside the box and gets things done. You have a strong sense of positioning, branding, and communication, and you enjoy both strategic management and practical implementation.
You also recognize yourself in:
- HBO working and thinking level
- Experience with (corporate) communications, branding, and marketing campaigns
- Strong writing skills and sense of tone of voice (B2B and public-oriented)
- You are an idea machine: you see opportunities and translate them into concrete actions.
- You are organized and keep track of ongoing projects and deadlines.
- You can easily switch between different topics: from heritage projects to public campaigns.
