Article: Bridgekeeper of the Naarden-Vesting

This article was written in 2018 by Lenneke Willemstein following the 2017-2018 restoration of the bridge keeper's house at Captain G.A. Meijerweg 1 in Naarden. It is about the bridge keeper's houses of Naarden-Vesting in the nineteenth century. There were no less than four bridge keeper's houses in Naarden Fortress in the nineteenth century. Only one of them still stands and has been restored by Monumentenbezit. This article discusses research into the typology of nineteenth-century sentry houses.
