New trainee program

The heritage sector needs new monument talents. That is why Monumentenbezit, together with a number of its partners from the sector, has started a trainee program! These partners include Museum Huis Doorn , Museum de Gevangenpoort in The Hague, the Hogeschool Utrecht and Stichting Monumentenzorg Curaçao .
With this program we can jointly offer our trainees the opportunity to work in the most beautiful places in the Dutch Kingdom, on some of the most striking buildings that are located there. In this way we want to actively contribute to the training of the monument caretakers of the future and to keep our beautiful sector healthy and vibrant.
A nice workplace
Monumentenbezit itself owns several top 100 monuments, including the castles Slangenburg and Buitenplaats Trompenburgh. Its portfolio of 32 national monuments and monumental complexes contains over 100 buildings. Enough beautiful places to come and work as a trainee!
Our organization is focused on preserving that heritage. Monumentenbezit does that through a knowledge-driven maintenance philosophy, in which the connection with the public is actively sought. Knowledge sharing is an essential part of that. This trainee program fits in perfectly with that.
What does the program have to offer?
You will work as a Junior Project Manager. You will build your own network while being in the middle of the heritage sector. You will work in our team of Architectural Project Managers. They will guide you, they will take you on the road to the monuments and show you the way in the field. In addition, you will work independently on your own projects.
You will work for Monumentenbezit for one year, with the possibility to join HU Utrecht. You can choose from two courses that the university has to offer. The first is the minor Built Heritage (starting September 2024). The other is the minor Building History and Restoration.
The next year you will work at the Curaçao Monument Care Foundation, to work on projects in the Caribbean Netherlands.
