Slangenburg Castle has a history dating back to the Middle Ages and has been owned by the Monumentenbezit Foundation since 2016. The castle has a unique and authentic interior with valuable objects and furniture.

The castle already works with a dedicated group of volunteers who are involved in activities such as welcoming visitors and organizing events. With the launch of the Collection Care & Housekeeping team, a new form of volunteer work will be added.

The new team meets every other week at the castle and ensures that historic rooms are periodically dusted, including hard-to-reach places such as on top of cabinets and behind furniture.

New volunteers receive training and guidance from collection care specialist Arrianne Zeijlemaker of Collection Care Solutions. This teaches them how to work safely and responsibly in a fragile historical interior. Slangenburg Castle warmly invites anyone interested in contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage to register via the website.

Would you like to volunteer to help restore and maintain the historic interior of Slangenburg Castle to its former glory? Sign up at kasteelslangenburg.nl/collectiezorg.
