Policy plan 2025-2027
Null
Monumentenbezit shares its new policy plan! In the period 2025-2027 we will focus more on sustainability, green management and strengthening the bond with the public.
We briefly summarize a number of pillars from the plan here. You can read the full plan online via our website.
Sustainability
Monumentenbezit has committed itself to the Roadmap for Sustainable Monuments , which aims to reduce CO2 emissions from monuments by 40% by 2030. This will be achieved through a sustainable approach , in which an opportunity matrix is drawn up for each monument to determine which objects will be tackled first.
Our sustainability policy is about the sustainability of our portfolio on the one hand and the sustainability of the organization on the other. The three major themes for our organization are biodiversity, energy transition and raw materials. Biodiversity is promoted by protecting flora and fauna around the monuments. This will be an important part of a management plan for a monument in the new policy period. In the coming years, we will also work on an energy transition by making buildings more sustainable, and we will consciously deal with raw materials by recycling products and extending their lifespan.
Green management
Management plans will be drawn up for the green heritage of Monumentenbezit in the coming policy period. We attach great importance to the green elements around the monuments. Although many of these elements do not have protected status, they are considered an integral part of the monuments.
One of the challenges that Monumentenbezit is faced with is the changing water management on the plots and longer periods of drought. In collaboration with owners of adjacent plots, tenants and water boards, we are striving to gain more control over these circumstances and limit damage. In the new management plans, we therefore pay attention to the water management around the monuments.
Connecting with the audience
One of the most important pillars of Monumentenbezit is making a connection with the public. We will focus on this even more in the coming years. Interaction, both online and offline, is stimulated through cultural use of the building, educational programs and events.
In the coming policy period, Monumentenbezit will continue to work out the pilot in which five monuments with a public function each make a financial contribution from their exploitation. From this contribution, a team has been set up that is fully at the service of the exploitation and opening of these five locations.
Finally, we will focus more on making the monuments accessible in the coming years. Monumentenbezit is investigating how accessibility can be optimized for all its monuments. If physical interventions to improve accessibility prove impossible, we will look for other ways, for example by offering a 'Co-Visit' space.
